This Week at Northbrook: April 18, 2025
Have you ever looked at something a hundred times and still missed what was really going on? That’s exactly what can happen with the cross. We wear it, decorate with it, sing about it—but have we really seen it?
This Sunday, we’ll fix our eyes on Jesus’ final words in Luke 23:44–49, and what we’ll see isn’t just the death of a man—it’s the defeat of sin, the victory over death, and the proof that you can fully trust God even in your darkest moments.
At first glance, the cross looked like failure. But when you really look? You see the sky go dark, the curtain tear, and Jesus shout, “Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.” Judgment was falling. Death was losing. Hope was rising. And lives—like yours and mine—were being changed forever.
So let me ask you: What are you going through right now that feels like the end? Maybe it’s not. Maybe it’s the place where redemption and renovation begins.
Come ready to see the cross with fresh eyes—and leave with a faith that’s anchored, unshaken, and fully alive.
He is risen. Let’s worship like it.
Who have you invited to join you for Easter?
Take the initiative to reach out to family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. Eternity is at stake for someone far from God.
