Legacies: Making Sense of the Gospel Devotional - Day 5
Reading: Acts 14:15, 1 Peter 1:3-9, Romans 15:13
Paul’s call to the people of Lystra to turn from idols and find their hope in the living God is just as relevant today as it was then. We often place our hope in things like financial stability, relationships, or personal success, but these are fragile. When they fail, we’re left feeling empty and disappointed. In contrast, the hope we have in Christ is unshakeable because it’s not based on circumstances.
In I Peter 1, Peter reminds us that our living hope is grounded in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This hope isn't just wishful thinking, but a confident expectation that shapes how we live each day. Consider how the reality of Christ's resurrection and the promise of your own future resurrection might impact your response to life's challenges.
How can you cultivate "resurrection hope" as a daily habit?
Ask God to fill you with joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope (Romans 15:13). Let this hope be an anchor for your soul, steadfast and sure, as you navigate the ups and downs of life with Christ.
